Trust In God Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEEFEFE

Deep trust in God for that I still have soughtA
Through all the grim doubts that bemock the soulB
When in the amazement of far reaching throughtA
We list the labourings that for ever rollB
Like dubious thunders through those clouded regionsC
Where night and destiny the counsels keepD
Of Time developing his shadowy legionsC
And when I ve stood upon some hazardous steepD
Of speculation heaving up its bareE
And rugged ridge high in the nebulous airE
Of endless change and thence tremendouslyF
Throwing its shadow like a blind man s stareE
Out through the dread unknown deep trust in TheeF
O God Hath likewise been my refuge thereE
