Trust In God Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEEFEFEDeep trust in God for that I still have sought | A |
Through all the grim doubts that bemock the soul | B |
When in the amazement of far reaching throught | A |
We list the labourings that for ever roll | B |
Like dubious thunders through those clouded regions | C |
Where night and destiny the counsels keep | D |
Of Time developing his shadowy legions | C |
And when I ve stood upon some hazardous steep | D |
Of speculation heaving up its bare | E |
And rugged ridge high in the nebulous air | E |
Of endless change and thence tremendously | F |
Throwing its shadow like a blind man s stare | E |
Out through the dread unknown deep trust in Thee | F |
O God Hath likewise been my refuge there | E |
