The Family That Prays Together Stays Together Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDE FFGGHFFI BJKLLMMNE OPQRES

Have you not heard the words of the wiseA
Words that made others receive the golden prizeA
Have your eyes not been opened to seeB
Or you are like that barren fig treeB
Have you never smelt the scent of peaceC
Like the one enjoyed by my week old nieceC
Like a bombshell I drop the secret todayD
A family that prays together stays togetherE
-
Some call me divorceF
Who destroys families with no remorseF
But why should you be unitedG
How can my kingdom be expandedG
With disunity comes destructionH
Parents divorceF
Children lose their discipline sourceF
All hell breaks looseI
-
You have eyes but do not seeB
You have ears but do not hearJ
Let me tell you what I fearK
Prayer makes me feel very weakL
And a prayerful family makes my life so bleakL
It unleashes tongues of fire on my bosomM
That burn me from top to bottomM
If only you knewN
A family that prays together stays togetherE
-
Have you not heardO
Where two or more gather in my nameP
You will invite your powerful Christ as your holy scripture saysQ
Oh you shameless generation do you not knowR
A family that prays together stays togetherE
Even I the devil cannot penetrateS
