The Horse Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGHHIJBKLM NOBBBBPP| One question I have now is this | A |
| What kind of creature the horse is | B |
| An animal who is exultant of his strength | C |
| And the brightness of his rustling mane | D |
| Who made the horse to run so fast | E |
| Who caused it to leap like a locust | F |
| Who made it not to fear the harness and the saddle | G |
| Who made it not to fear the harshness of the battle | G |
| He is not shaken by the sharpness of the spear | H |
| I seldom know an animal who laughs at fear | H |
| He responds quickly to the sound of the horn | I |
| He does not turn back because of the sword | J |
| When an enemy halts he says 'Alas' | B |
| And when the horn blows he says 'Aha ' | K |
| He smells the battle from afar | L |
| But he will never turn away from war | M |
| - | |
| And the question used to drive me round the bend | N |
| But now I do understand | O |
| The answer to my question of course | B |
| That what kind of creature is the horse | B |
| And I think it is obvious | B |
| That I should call the horse courageous | B |
| But the main factor | P |
| Is to know its creator | P |
