Seasons Of Love 6: The Rain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DDDD EEFG HHAA

What the rain is to the tender roseA
Cannot be mastered by you and meB
To feed it drunk with an overdoseC
To drown its roots simultaneouslyB
-
It comes in Spring with the misty weatherD
Slow and beauteous and fills the rose with verdureD
And who looks at the vegetation in SeptemberD
Thinks the rose will be jovial foreverD
-
And when the flowers are budding newE
Tasting a love and a love that's trueE
Who would think in Summer the loving rain will be violentF
Washing away the roses and the violetsG
-
But even after thunder and lightning roses will glowH
Vegetation will perfect and verdure will growH
What's bad of the rain it only fills a proseA
But it fills a novel what the rain is to the roseA
