Seasons Of Love 5: The Vagabond Bee Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDEE EECC FFGH

The bee that rovers in summer looks not for honeydewA
Nor it looks for a fragrant Floweret or a peck of goldB
But it looks for a special flower that's budding newA
That I believe for I was toldB
-
And what special flower will it get from a million floweretsC
The bright red cinnamon or the blue fragrant violetD
And which special one in the thousand flowers by the riverE
The orange tulip or the sweet smelling dusty millerE
-
And the vagabond bee it wandered in NovemberE
Past the Daisies and the mountain LavenderE
Whilst the others were dining and drunk with overdosesC
Sipping sunflowers and swimming in rosesC
-
But why is he flying and why is he wanderingF
When others are wake and slumberingF
Till in winter in the last mountain where only butterflies dineG
He found the yellow rose he was searching for all this timeH

Poet's note: 'The Vagabond bee' mentioned in the poem symbolizes a young gentleman on a quest for true love. He come across beautiful girls on his way, (symbolized by the different flowers), but his choice is not to be made by seeing their beauty and popularity. In stanza 3 we discover that while he so does, other accompanicies of his youth are are living life enjoying themselves, and they are even surprised why he is acting so strange (stanza 4). Then after his sacrifices, determination and will, he ends up getting the one beautiful damsel he so was looking for, and guess, A GOD SENT...
