This Is My Body Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CDCED EFGHI J KLMN EHHOP EQRST UVW XB

Like the last supper I offer it to Judas IscariotA
who smiles in the midst of everyoneB
-
I am the texture of each word your eyes grab in this poemC
Lynching on the branch of broken promisesD
My body is the structure of this poemC
This poem is the shape of my bodyE
Sometimes I forget to feel until the wind encompassesD
-
This is my bodyE
It holdsF
footage of love that passed by to its destination in opened carG
The pen that needs fire before inkingH
Sometimes I am the finger behind the trigger that smashes the object in my chestI
-
I find myself counting God's art on earth like grains of sand on seashoreJ
-
on the other handK
I break knees with empty handsL
and say Hallowed be thy nameM
Repeating Give us our daily bread endlessly to maintain breaths for tomorrowN
-
-
This is meE
Sometimes I smile without breathingH
And breathe for days without noticingH
At the bottom of my suitcase I hide the truth from myselfO
to let the wind moves through my lungsP
-
This is my body built with gallantryE
The hairs on my skin are the tails of pains I've swallowedQ
This is my body just like my country and usR
Every moment I deceive my heartS
as it seeks justice like the unheard voices of innocent soulsT
-
I'm afraid to draw my heart into wordsU
Because it will swallow each wordV
For its surface holds scars that are fighting to healW
-
And my body is turning into islandX
somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic oceanB
