I'm Afraid Of Closing My Eyes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEG

It's dark and dreadfulA
All alone in a fremd landB
Had fate been mercifulA
We'd be basking in a beach sandB
-
I'm not for a blindfold adventureC
To fall asleep to rely on unseenD
I'd rather stay awake to see my futureC
I'd be more alert and remain keenD
-
There's no manna on the other sideE
With eyes closed it's only nightmaresF
Giving up a self I once criedE
I'm not ready to face my fearsG
