| When you are next to me my gaiety | E |
| The dearth of you torturous | F |

| Draw closer and my downcast face is lit | E |
| On the edge of this fearful cliff i sit | E |
| You exist in the now in my waking | G |
| But in the killing of my slumber that is awaiting | G |
| Will i find you here still in my firm and unsure embrace | H |
| Or adrift in the empty vast cosmic space | H |
