Good bye good bye to SummerA
For Summer's nearly doneB
The garden smiling faintlyC
Cool breezes in the sunB
Our thrushes now are silentD
Our swallows flown awayE
But Robin's here in coat of brownF
And scarlet breast knot gayE
Robin Robin RedbreastD
O Robin dearG
Robin sings so sweetlyC
In the falling of the yearG
-
Bright yellow red and orangeH
The leaves come down in hostsI
The trees are Indian princesJ
But soon they'll turn to ghostsI
The scanty pears and applesK
Hang russet on the boughL
It's autumn autumn autumn lateD
'Twill soon be winter nowL
Robin Robin RedbreastD
O Robin dearG
And what will this poor Robin doD
For pinching days are nearG
-
The fireside for the cricketD
The wheat stack for the mouseM
When trembling night winds whistleN
And moan all round the houseM
The frosty ways like ironO
The branches plumed with snowP
Alas in winter dead and darkQ
Where can poor Robin goP
Robin Robin RedbreastD
O Robin dearG
And a crumb of bread for RobinB
His little heart to cheerG
