Oh! Had We Some Bright Little Isle Of Our Own Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDCDEF GGHHIBIBJJ

Oh had we some bright little isle of our ownA
In a blue summer ocean far off and aloneA
Where a leaf never dies in the still blooming bowersB
And the bee banquets on through a whole year of flowersB
Where the sun loves to pauseC
With so fond a delayD
That the night only drawsC
A thin veil o'er the dayD
Where simply to feel that we breathe that we liveE
Is worth the best joy that life elsewhere can giveF
-
There with souls ever ardent and pure as the climeG
We should love as they loved in the first golden timeG
The glow of the sunshine the balm of the airH
Would steal to our hearts and make all summer thereH
With affection as freeI
From decline as the bowersB
And with hope like the beeI
Living always on flowersB
Our life should resemble a long day of lightJ
And our death come on holy and calm as the nightJ
