Thoughts Of Phena Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCDEDE FGFGHIHI JKJKBCBC

at news of her deathA
-
Not a line of her writing have IB
Not a thread of her hairC
No mark of her late time as dame in her dwelling wherebyB
I may picture her thereC
And in vain do I urge my unsightD
To conceive my lost prizeE
At her close whom I knew when her dreams were upbrimming with lightD
And with laughter her eyesE
-
What scenes spread around her last daysF
Sad shining or dimG
Did her gifts and compassions enray and enarch her sweet waysF
With an aureate nimbG
Or did life light decline from her yearsH
And mischances controlI
Her full day star unease or regret or forebodings or fearsH
Disennoble her soulI
-
Thus I do but the phantom retainJ
Of the maiden of yoreK
As my relic yet haply the best of her fined in my brainJ
It may be the moreK
That no line of her writing have IB
Nor a thread of her hairC
No mark of her late time as dame in her dwelling wherebyB
I may picture her thereC
