Daddy When You Wanna Be Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DDCE FGC CHHI IJKL

I was doing just fine without youA
I didn't need to reuniteB
Didn't need anything from youA
You already proved you weren't the man I needed you to beC
-
Yeah I'll go to this visitationD
Sit down and give you a little conversationD
But you don't mean much to meC
No bond can ever be restoredE
-
You did this when you chose not to be a dadF
But I'm supposed to feel bad show pity and cater to you and your needsG
But where was this when it was meC
-
You're just a daddy when you wanna beC
I've accepted itH
Stop stressing itH
Do you and just leave me aloneI
-
I'd rather walk down the aisle aloneI
Then with you or anyone elseJ
Because you don't care you just sit thereK
And wonder why things are the way that they areL

Poet's note: This poem is about that father figure who is supposed to be there but isn't, and constantly hurts you, and thinks returning will fix everything. And I wrote it October 1st 2025.
