Remember Me Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEC FFGG HHII JJJJ KK

Old friends of our childhood daysA
You know our story and all our waysA
You promised to return when you travelled far awayB
Our wait was enough from January April to MayB
-
Little did we know that we may be apartC
Leaving our playgrounds for the pastD
Our beautiful games under Old John's hutE
Will forever leave memories dancing in our heartC
-
New friends of our present timeF
With whom we share our dimeF
When once you travel milesG
Do not forget our cries and smilesG
-
Yesterday is gone today will pass and tomorrow will comeH
Always remember our song to the little drumH
Though our days together may be numberedI
Our past should always be rememberedI
-
The world will always growJ
But when the distance winds blowJ
And time fly as fast as the crowJ
Then old age begin to showJ
-
Wherever you may beK
Old friend please do remember meK
