Remember Me

Old friends of our childhood days
You know our story and all our ways
You promised to return when you travelled far away
Our wait was enough from January, April to May

Little did we know that we may be apart
Leaving our playgrounds for the past
Our beautiful games under Old John's hut
Will forever leave memories dancing in our heart

New friends of our present time
With whom we share our dime
When once you travel miles
Do not forget our cries and smiles

Yesterday is gone, today will pass and tomorrow will come
Always remember our song to the little drum
Though our days together may be numbered
Our past should always be remembered

The world will always grow
But when the distance winds blow
And time fly as fast as the crow
Then old age begin to show

Wherever you may be
Old friend, please, do remember me
