A great singer in perpetual slumberA
No more can we hear him foreverA
The golden voice of yesteryearsB
Singing in many Indian languagesB
A wonder among all who knew himC
Singing sweet songs that never dimC
Through generations we ve heardD
Hence gone to the heavenly abodeE
The melodious songs king s no moreF
A chorus reverberating in every poreF
Soulfully sensed in our mind storeF
Eternally missed by all forevermoreF

Poet's note: A soulful reminiscence of one of India’s greatest singers who lost his battle against Covid 19. He was a legend during his time for over four decades of songs he sung in many languages for movies and also for cultural and religious reasons.
