My Country (tears For Africa) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEFGHIIJKLM

She woke me up in the middle of the nightA
She couldn't speak but not deaf and dumbB
She wept and I felt her plightA
Yes blood oozed from her thumbB
She cried like a baby in my armsC
Her skin was hot but calmD
Her eyes shone in iced tearsE
Her lips uttered her despair in fearF
She was rich but now desertedG
Beautiful but now ugly and contortedH
She said to me is this the end of our sufferingI
Oh poor she how she wept for her offspringI
She kissed my forehead and let out a cryJ
A cry from the deepest trench of her heartK
When will Africa my husband ariseL
Sat she fist clenched on my matM
