I will always remember dadA
You watching over me like a hawkB
Drawing my boundaries fencing my peripheralsC
You carried me so much and every one of usD
I don t begrudge you for loving your loadE
-
Your firm discipline unwavering justiceD
Never did it make me love you lessF
Always my hero my supermanG
Nothing you couldn t doH
You could win any battle any warI
Could turn day into nightJ
You were the king of my jungleK
-
I remember whiningL
Crying daddy I ain t grown enoughM
You said I would grow soonN
And soon you said goodbyeO
Away and alone your heart gave inP
To a love so heavily violentQ
You just left all of us to grow soonN
-
I have walked all the way this journeyR
I see paradise in the horizonG
I can feel the cool breeze of the River NileS
I sense the delectation's of victoryR
Yet for some reason I feel tiredT
My knees powerless my mind blankU
I look up to you checking out your whipV
For only its lash will drive me forwardT
-
Shingi gave up on me he let me downW
Never got ill never failed to get a shoulderX
Mine was his like his was mineY
Never consulted he just took awayZ
Ate up the whole tribe s heartA2
All by himself all for himselfB2
He left me all alone all by myselfB2
-
The army that you left meR
I have tried to arm unbelievableK
Some have dropped their gunsC2
Some don t wanna fightJ
My voice has grown hoarseD2
My commands all in vainE2
I don t wanna lose this battleK
-
I hear you dad I listen for you every momentQ
I can still hear your voice though distantQ
Telling me I will grow soonN
But now I really need youH
To carry me a little high on your shouldersF2
For my knees are numbG2
My feet ache on every stepH2
