Two Men (j. L. And R. B.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDECC FAFACC GHGHCC IHIHCC

In the Northland there were threeA
Pukka Pliers of the penB
Two of them had Fame in feeA
And were loud and lusty menB
By them like a shrimp was IC
Yet alas they had to dieC
-
Jack was genius through and throughD
Who his future could foretellE
What we sweated blood to doD
He would deem a bagatelleE
Yet in youth he had to dieC
And an ancient man am IC
-
Rex was rugged as an oakF
Story teller born was heA
First of writing fighting folkF
How he lived prodigiouslyA
Better man he was than IC
Yet forlorn he had to dieC
-
Jack was made of god like stuffG
Born to battle for the rightH
Rex of fighting had enoughG
When the gods destroyed his sightH
Craven heart I wonder whyC
Lingering alone am IC
-
They were men of valiant breedI
Fit and fearless in the fightH
Who in every thought and deedI
Burned the flame of life too brightH
Cowards live while heroes dieC
They have gone and here am IC
