Tranquilism Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCBDDEFFG AABAABAAAAAA HIJAAJKKLMML

I call myself a TranquilistA
With deep detachment I existA
From friction freeB
While others court the gilded throngC
And worship Women Wine and SongC
I scorn the threeB
For I have reached the sober ageD
When I prefer to turn a pageD
Beside the fireE
And from the busy mart of menF
To meditative book and penF
With grace retireG
-
If you are craving peace of mindA
In Tranquilism you will findA
PhilosophyB
Serenely fold your hands and waitA
Be cloistered calm whatever fateA
The Gods decreeB
And though the world with rage be rentA
Hold it remote and claim contentA
With quiet heartA
You can't do much to better itA
But your good will may help a bitA
Ere you departA
-
So let us who are old and sereH
To din of battle shut the earI
And trumpet vainJ
And though in no monastic moodA
Accept the balm of solitudeA
And grace regainJ
Let us be Tranquilists and tryK
In placid places to applyK
Life's wisdom wonL
In Nature's bounty we may blessM
The Gods and wait with thankfulnessM
Our setting sunL
