The Yukoner Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ACAC BDBD

He burned a hole in frozen muckA
He pierced the icy mouldB
And there in six foot dirt he struckA
A sack or so of goldB
-
He burned holes in the DecalogueA
And then it cam aboutC
For Fortune's just a lousy rogueA
His pocket petered outC
-
And lo 'twas but a year all toldB
When there in a shadow grimD
In six feet deep of icy mouldB
They burned a hole for himD
