The Trail Of No Return Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED FGFGHDED IJKJLDED

So now I take a bitter roadA
Whereon no bourne I seeB
And wearily I lift the loadA
That once I bore with gleeB
For me no more by sea or shoreC
Adventure's star shall burnD
As I forsake wild ways to takeE
The Trail of No ReturnD
-
Such paths of peril I have trodF
In sun and shade they layG
And some went wistfully to GodF
And some the devil's wayG
But there is one I may not shunH
Though long my life's sojournD
A dawn will break when I must takeE
The Trail of No ReturnD
-
Farewell to friends good bye to foesI
Adieu to smile or frownJ
My voyaging is nigh its closeK
And dark is drifting downJ
With weary feet my way I beatL
Yet holy light discernD
So let me take without heart breakE
The Trail of No ReturnD
