The Summing Up Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDF GHGHIJIJ KLKLMNMN

When you have sailed the seven seasA
And looped the ends of earthB
You'll long at last for slippered easeA
Beside a bonny hearthC
A cosy cottage in the sunD
A pleasant page to readE
You'll find when all is said and doneD
That's nearly all you needF
-
You may have pow wowed with the GreatG
And played a potent partH
In serious affairs of stateG
But now with quiet heartH
You bide beside a rosy fireI
And blether with a friendJ
Discovering that you requireI
So little in the endJ
-
And all your days of fevered flightK
For glory gold or gearL
Will seem so futile when the NightK
Draws dolorously nearL
And you will only ask to beM
With modest comfort blestN
With sweetness of simplicityM
With rich reward of restN
