The Score Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCD EEFFGG HHIIGG EEJJKKEE

Because I've come to eighty oddA
I must prepare to meet you GodA
What should I do I cannot prayB
I have no pious words to sayB
And though the Bible I might readC
Scriptures don't meet my needD
-
Please tell me God what can I doE
To be acceptable to youE
I've put in order my affairsF
And left their portion to my heirsF
And what remains I've willed to beG
A gift to CharityG
-
What must I do I cannot kneelH
Although a sense of you I feelH
I will not show a coward's fearI
Waiting until the end be nearI
To pester you with mercy pleaG
You'd be despising meG
-
I hope I have been kind and trueE
I've helped to happiness a fewE
I've made a mother's eye to smileJ
I've played with little ones a whileJ
I do not know what is the scoreK
Of good I might have done much moreK
But now I guess my exit's dueE
Dear God it's up to YouE
