The Headliner And The Breadliner Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBBC DEDEFF

Moko the Educated Ape is hereA
The pet of vaudeville so the posters sayB
And every night the gaping people payB
To see him in his panoply appearC
To see him pad his paunch with dainty cheerC
Puff his perfecto swill champagne and swayB
Just like a gentleman yet all in playB
Then bow himself off stage with brutish leerC
-
And as to night with noble knowledge crammedD
I 'mid this human compost take my placeE
I once a poet now so dead and damnedD
The woeful tears half freezing on my faceE
O God I cry let me but take his shapeF
Moko's the Blest the Educated ApeF
