The Hand Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEGHIHI JBJBFKFK

Throughout my life I seeA
A guiding handB
The pitfalls set for meA
Were grimly plannedB
But always when and whereC
They opened wideD
Someone who seemed to careC
Stood by my sideD
-
When up the pathway darkE
I stumbled onF
Afar ahead a sparkE
Of guidance shoneG
When forked the tragic trailH
And sad my plightI
My guardian without failH
Would lead me rightI
-
How merciful a MindJ
my life has plannedB
Aye though mine eyes were blindJ
I touched the HandB
Though weary ways and wanF
My feet have trodK
Always it led me onF
Starways to GodK
