The Dream Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD BEBE BFBG HIHI JIJI

Said Will I'll stay and till the landA
Said Jack I'll sail the seaB
So one went forth kit bag in handA
The other ploughed the leaB
-
They met again at Christmas tideC
And wistful were the twoD
Said Jack you're lucky here to bideC
Said Will I envy youD
-
For in your eyes a light I seeB
Of tropic shores agleamE
Said Jack You need not envy meB
For still you have the DreamE
-
The Dream that lured me out to seaB
'Twas bright as paradiseF
Far fairer than the memoryB
You see within my eyesG
-
So if my foolish urge you shareH
In foreign lands to roamI
Take up my kit bag waiting thereH
And I will stay at homeI
-
-
-
Yet while the years have fated WillJ
To sow the sober loamI
The eyes of Jack are starry stillJ
High riding hills of foamI
