The Bright Side Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB AEFECE GHIHJH KLMLIL NOPOQO RSTSUS QVGVWV AXYXZX

Oh one gets used to everythingA
I hum a merry songB
And up the street and round the squareC
I wheel my chair alongB
For look you how my chest is soundD
And how my arms are strongB
-
Oh one gets used to anythingA
It's awkward at the firstE
And jolting o'er the cobbles givesF
A man a grievous thirstE
But of all ills that one must bearC
That's surely not the worstE
-
For there's the cafe open wideG
And there they set me upH
And there I smoke my caporalI
Above my cider cupH
And play manille a while beforeJ
I hurry home to supH
-
At home the wife is waiting meK
With smiles and pigeon pieL
And little Zi Zi claps her handsM
With laughter loud and highL
And if there's cause to growl I failI
To see the reason whyL
-
And all the evening by the lampN
I read some tale of crimeO
Or play my old accordionP
With Marie keeping timeO
Until we hear the hour of tenQ
From out the steeple chimeO
-
Then in the morning bright and soonR
No moment do I loseS
Within my little cobbler's shopT
To gain the silver sousS
Good luck one has no need of legsU
To make a pair of shoesS
-
And every Sunday oh it's thenQ
I am the happy manV
They wheel me to the river sideG
And there with rod and canV
I sit and fish and catch a dishW
Of goujons for the panV
-
Aye one gets used to everythingA
And doesn't seem to mindX
Maybe I'm happier than mostY
Of my two legged kindX
For look you at the darkest cloudZ
Lo how it's silver linedX
