The Artist Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD E EFGDH IJIJDKDK

All day with brow of anxious thoughtA
The dictionary throughB
Amid a million words he soughtA
The sole one that would doB
He wandered on from pub to pubC
Yet never ceased to seekD
With burning brain and pencil stubC
The Word UniqueD
-
Said he 'I'll nail it down or dieE
Oh Heaven help me pray '-
And then a heavy car dashed byE
And he was in the wayF
They rushed him to the hospitalG
And though his chance was bleakD
He cried 'I'll croak but find I shallH
The Word Unique '-
-
They reckoned he was off his headI
And could be it was soJ
For as they bent above his bedI
He mumbled soft and lowJ
And then a name they heard him speakD
Yet did not deem it oddK
At last he'd found the Word UniqueD
Just GodK
