The Aftermath Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGFHIHI JKJKLBLB

Although my blood I've shedA
In war's red wrathB
Oh how I darkly dreadA
Its aftermathB
Oh how I fear the dayC
Of my releaseD
When I must face the frayC
Of phoney peaceD
-
When I must fend againE
In labour strifeF
And toil with sweat and strainG
For kids and wifeF
The world is so upsetH
I battled forI
That grimly I regretH
The peace of warI
-
The wounds are hard to healJ
Of shell and shardK
But O the way to wealJ
Is bitter hardK
Though looking back I seeL
A gory pathB
How bloody black can beL
War's AftermathB
