Sympathy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCD EEFGGF HHIJJI JJGKKKG

My Muse is simple yet it's niceA
To think you don't need to think twiceA
On words I writeB
I reckon I've a common touchC
And if you say I cuss too muchC
I answer 'Quite 'D
-
I envy not the poet's lotE
He has something I haven't gotE
Alas I knowF
But I have something maybe heG
Would envy just a mite in meG
I'm rather lowF
-
For I am cast of common clayH
And from a ditch I fought my wayH
And that is whyI
The while the poet scans the skiesJ
My gaze is grimly gutterwiseJ
Earthy am II
-
And yet I have a gift perhapsJ
Denied to proud poetic chapsJ
Who scoff at meG
I know the hearts of humble folkK
I too have bowed beneath the yokeK
So let my verse for them evokeK
Your sympathyG
