Susie Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGI JKJKLAMA

My daughter Susie aged twoA
Apes me in every wayB
For as my household chores I doA
With brooms she loves to playB
A scrubbing brush to her is dearC
Ah Though my soul it vexD
My bunch of cuteness has I fearC
Kitchen complexD
-
My dream was that she might go farE
And play or sing or danceF
Aye even be a movie starE
Of glamour and romanceF
But no more with such hope I thinkG
For now her fondest wish isH
To draw a chair up to the sinkG
And wash the dishesI
-
Yet when you put it to a testJ
In ups and downs of lifeK
A maiden's mission may be bestJ
To make a good house wifeK
To bake to cook to knit to laveL
And so I pray that SueA
Will keep a happy hearth and haveM
A baby tooA
