Surtax Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD ABABEFEF GBGBHIJI

When I was young and Scottish IA
Allergic was to spendingB
I put a heap of bawbees byA
But now my life is endingB
Although I would my hoarded pelfC
Impetuously scatterD
Each day I live I find myselfC
Financially fatterD
-
Though all the market I might buyA
There's nothing to my needingB
I only have one bed to lieA
One mouth for feedingB
So what's the good of all that doughE
Accumulating dailyF
I should have spent it long agoE
In living gailyF
-
So take my tip my prudent friendG
Without misgivingB
Don't guard your fortune to the endG
But blow it livingB
Better on bubbly be it spentH
And chorus cutiesI
Than pay it to the GovernmentJ
For damned Death DutiesI
