Sea Change Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCD EFEFGG HIHDJJ KLKLFF MFMFNN

I saw a Priest in beetle blackA
Come to our golden beachB
And I was taken sore abackA
Lest he should choose to preachB
And chide me for my only wearC
A Gee string and a brassi egrave reD
-
And then I saw him shyly doffE
And fold his grim soutaneF
And one by one his clothes take offE
Until like any manF
He stood in bathing trunks a sightG
To thrill a maiden with delightG
-
For he was framed and fashioned likeH
Apollo BelvedereI
I felt my heart like cymbal strikeH
Beneath my brassi egrave reD
And then the flounce of foam he brokeJ
And disappeared with flashing strokeJ
-
We met 'Twas in the billows rollK
Oh how he sang with joyL
But not a hymn a merry trollK
With gusto of a boyL
I looked and lo the priest was goneF
And in his place a laughing faunF
-
Today confession I have madeM
The Father's face was sternF
And I was glad that in the shadeM
Mine he could not discernF
He gave me grace but oh the blissN
The salty passion of his kissN
