Sailor's Sweetheart Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAB CCCB DDDB EEEB

He sleeps beside me in the bedA
Upon my breast I hold his headA
Oh how I would that we were wedA
For he sails in the morningB
-
I wish I had not been so kindC
But love is fain and passion blindC
While out of sight is out of mindC
And he ships in the morningB
-
I feel his bairn stir in my wombD
Poor wee one born to bitter doomD
How dreary dark will be the gloomD
When he goes in the morningB
-
A sailor lad has need to courtE
A loving lass in every portE
To him it's just a bit of sportE
My heart break's in the morningB
