Rover's Rest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHGHIJIJ KLKLMNON

By parents I would not be pinnedA
Nor in my home abideB
For I was wanton as the windC
And tameless as the tideB
So scornful of domestic hearthD
And bordered garden pathE
I sought the wilder ways of earthF
The roads of wrathE
-
It scares me now to think of howG
Foolhardily I faredH
Though mighty scarred of pelt and powG
A dozen deaths I've daredH
Yet there are trails I would exploreI
And wilds that for me waitJ
Alas I'll wander nevermoreI
The hour's too lateJ
-
The folks are at my picture showK
I smoke my pipe and sighL
Soft slippered by the ember's glowK
A baby sitter IL
Behold In dressing gown of mauveM
To comfort reconciledN
A rover rocks the cradle ofO
His new grand childN
