Room Ghost Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CDCDCD EFEFEF AGAGAG AHAHAH AAA

Though elegance I ill affordA
My living room is green and goldB
The former tenant was a lordA
Who died of drinking I am toldB
I fancy he was rather boredA
I don't think he was over oldB
-
And where on books I dully browseC
And gaze in rapture at the seaD
My predecessor world carouseC
In lavish infidelityD
With ladies amoral as cowsC
But interesting you'll agreeD
-
I'm dull as water in a ditchE
Making these silly bits of rhymeF
My Lord I'm told was passing richE
And must have has a lovely timeF
With champagne and a pretty bitchE
No need to heed the church bell chimeF
-
My living room is marble flooredA
And on its ceiling cherubs playG
But like my lord I'm often boredA
And put my sullen books awayG
And though my people say I snoredA
I dream of indiscretions gayG
-
And often in the niggard nightA
When sweet sleep I fail to drownH
I seem to see that noble spriteA
In monocle and dressing gownH
A glass of brandy to the lightA
He holds and winks and drinks it downH
-
When life's so beautifully plannedA
Dear reader can you understandA
Why men should die be their own handA
