Repentance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGFG HBHB IBIB

If you repent the Parson saidA
Your sins will be forgivenB
Aye even on your dying bedA
You're not too late for heavenB
-
That's just my cup of tea I thoughtC
Though for my sins I sorrowD
Since salvation is easy boughtE
I will repent to morrowD
-
To morrow and to morrow wentF
But though my youth was flyingG
I was reluctant to repentF
having no fear of dyingG
-
'Tis plain I mused the more I sinH
To Satan's jubilationB
When I repent the more I'll winH
Celestial approbationB
-
So still I sin and though I failI
To get snow whitely shrivenB
My timing's good I home to hailI
The last bus up to heavenB
