Pipe Smoker Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGFHBHB IGIEJBJB

Because I love the soothing weedA
And am of sober typeB
I'd choose me for a friend in needA
A man who smokes a pipeB
A cove who hasn't much to sayC
And spits into the fireD
Puffing like me a pipe of clayC
Corn cob or briarD
-
A chap original of thoughtE
With cheery point of viewF
Who has of gumption quite a lotG
And streaks of humour tooF
He need not be a whiskered sageH
With wisdom over ripeB
Just give me in the old of ageH
A pal who smokes a pipeB
-
A cigarette may make for witI
Although I like it notG
A good cigar I must admitI
Gives dignity to thoughtE
But as my glass of grog I sipJ
I never never gripeB
If I have for companionshipJ
A guy who smokes a pipeB
