Pavement Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA BBB CDD EEFG

God's truth these be the bitter timesA
In vain I sing my sheaf of rhymesA
And hold my battered hat for dimesA
-
And then a copper collars meB
Barking It's begging that you beB
Come on dad you're in custodyB
-
And then the Beak looks down and saysC
Sheer doggerel I deem your laysD
I send you down for seven daysD
-
So for the week I won't disturbE
The peace by singing at the curbE
I don't mind that but oh it's hellF
To have my verse called doggerelG
