Oh, It Is Good Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH ICIC

Oh it is good to drink and supA
And then beside the kindly fireB
To smoke and heap the faggots upA
And rest and dream to heart's desireB
-
Oh it is good to ride and runC
To roam the greenwood wild and freeD
To hunt to idle in the sunC
To leap into the laughing seaD
-
Oh it is good with hand and brainE
To gladly till the chosen soilF
And after honest sweat and strainE
To see the harvest of one's toilF
-
Oh it is good afar to roamG
And seek adventure in strange landsH
Yet oh so good the coming homeG
The velvet love of little handsH
-
So much is good We thank Thee GodI
For all the tokens Thou hast givenC
That here on earth our feet have trodI
Thy little shining trails of HeavenC
