Obesity Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD EEFFGGC CCCCHHI

With belly like a poisoned pupA
Said I 'I must give bacon upA
And also I profanely fearB
I must abandon bread and beerB
That make for portliness they sayC
Yet of them copiously todayC
I ate with an increasingly senseD
Of grievous corpulenceD
-
I like a lot of thinks I likeE
Too bad that I must go on strikeE
Against pork sausages and mashF
Spaghetti and fried corn beef hashF
I deem he is a lucky soulG
Who has no need of girth controlG
For in the old of age 'Il fautC
Souffrir pour etre bean '-
-
Yet let me not be unconsoledC
So many greybeards I beholdC
Distinguished in affairs of stateC
In culture counted with the GreatC
Have tummies with a shameless bulgeH
And so I think I'll still indulgeH
In eats I like without a qualmI
And damn my diaphragm '-
