My Son Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CDCDCD EFEFGG HDHDII

I must not let my boy Dick downA
Knight of the airB
With wings of light he won renownA
Then crashed somewhereB
To fly to France from London townA
I do not dareB
-
Oh he was such a simple ladC
Who loved the skyD
A modern day Sir GalahadC
No need to dieD
Earthbound he might have been so gladC
Yet chose to flyD
-
I ask from where his courage stemmedE
I've never flownF
Air travel I have oft condemnedE
Now I'm aloneF
Yet somehow hold the bright beliefG
God gave his briefG
-
So now I must live up to himH
Who won on highD
A lustre time will never dimH
Though coward ID
Let me revere till life be doneI
My hero sonI
