My Feud Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CDCDCD EFEFEF GHGHGH IJIJKKI hate my neighbour Widow Green | A |
I'd like to claw her face | B |
But if I did she'd make a scene | A |
And run me round the place | B |
For widows are in way of spleen | A |
A most pugnacious race | B |
- | |
And yet I must do something quick | C |
To keep the hag in line | D |
Since her red rooster chose to pick | C |
Five lettuce heads of mine | D |
And so I fed it arsenic | C |
Which it did not decline | D |
- | |
It disappeared but on my mat | E |
Before a week had sped | F |
I found Mi mi my tabby cat | E |
And it was stoney dead | F |
I diagnosed with weeping that | E |
On strychnine it had fed | F |
- | |
And so I bought a hamburg steak | G |
Primed it with powdered glass | H |
And left it for her dog to take | G |
With gulping from the grass | H |
Since then although I lie awake | G |
I have not seen it pass | H |
- | |
Well that's the scoring up to date | I |
And as I read a text | J |
From Job to justify my hate | I |
I wonder who'll be next | J |
Somehow I feel that one must die | K |
Ma Green or I | K |
