My Centenarian Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACAC DEDFGHGH IJIJAKAK LMLMNONO PQPQAGAG

A hundred years is a lot of livingA
I've often thought and I'll know maybeB
Some day if the gods are good in givingA
And grant me to turn the centuryB
Yet in all my eighty years of beingA
I've never known but one ancient manC
Who actively feeling hearing seeingA
Survived t beyond the hundred spanC
-
Thinking No I don't guess he ponderedD
He had the brains of a tiny totE
And in his mind he so often wanderedD
I doubted him capable of thoughtF
He hadn't much to think of anywayG
There in the village of his birthH
Painfully poor in a pinching penny wayG
And grimed with the soiling of Mother EarthH
-
Then one day motoring past his cottageI
The hovel in which he had been bornJ
I saw him supping a mess of pottageI
on the sill door so fail forlornJ
Thinks I I'll give him a joy that's thrillingA
A spin in my open CadillacK
And so I asked him and he was willingA
And I installed him there in the backK
-
en I put the big bus through its pacesL
A hundred miles an hour or moreM
And he clutched at me with queer grimacesL
He's never been in a car beforeM
The motor roared and the road was levelN
The old chap laughed like an impish boyO
And as I drove like the very devilN
Darn him he peed his pants with joyO
-
And so I crowned his long existenceP
By showing him how our modern speedQ
Easily can annihilate distanceP
And answer to all our modern needQ
And I went on my way but little caringA
Until I heard to mild dismayG
His drive had thrilled him beyond all bearingA
The poor old devil He died next dayG
