Mary Ellen Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBBBB CDCDEBEB FGFGHIJI

It's mighty quiet in the houseA
Since Mary Ellen quit me coldB
I've swept the hearth and fed the mouseA
That's getting fat and overboldB
I've bought a pig's foot for the potB
And soon I'll set the fire alightB
Then I may eat or I may notB
Depends upon my appetiteB
-
Since Mary Ellen left me loneC
I haven't earned a bloody bobD
I sit and sigh and mope and moanC
And bellyache I quit my jobD
My money's mostly gone I thinkE
I ought to save it up for foodB
But no I'll blow it in for drinkE
Then do a bunk for goodB
-
I watch my mouse his whiskers preenF
He watches me with wicked gleeG
Today oh God It's years sixteenF
Since Mary Ellen wed with meG
Oh how the dear girl hated verminH
She left rat poison on the shelfI
Friend Mouse your doom I new determineJ
Then how about myselfI
