Jane Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDD EEFFG BAHHI JJKKABB

My daughter Jane makes dressesA
For beautiful PrincessesB
But though she's plain is JaneC
Of needlework she's vainC
And makes such pretty thingsD
For relatives of KingsD
-
She reads the picture papersE
Where Royalties cut capersE
And often says to meF
'How wealthy they must beF
That nearly every dayG
A new robe they can pay '-
-
Says I 'If your PrincessesB
Could fabric pretty dressesA
Though from a throne they stemH
I would think more of themH
Peeress and shopgirl areI
To my mind on a par '-
-
Says Jane 'But for their backingJ
I might be sewing sackingJ
Instead I work with joyK
In exquisite employK
Embroidering rich dressesA
For elegant PrincessesB
Damn social upsettersB
Who criticise their betters '-
