Ignorance Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJKAK LMNMOPQH RRSRRERE

Oh happy he who cannot seeA
With scientific eyesB
Who does not know how flowers growC
And is not planet wiseB
Content to find with simple mindD
Joys as they areE
To whom a rose is just a roseF
A star a starE
-
It is not good I deem to broodG
On things beyond our kenH
A rustic I would live and dieI
Aloof from learned menH
And laugh and sing with zest of SpringJ
In life's exultant sceneK
For vain my be philosophyA
And what does meaning meanK
-
I'm talking rot I'm really notL
As dumb as I pretendM
But happiness I dimly guessN
Is what counts in the endM
To educate is to dilateO
The nerves of painP
So let us give up books and liveQ
Like hinds againH
-
The best of wisdom surely isR
To be not overwiseR
For may not thought be evil fraughtS
And truth less kind than liesR
So let me praise the golden daysR
I played a gay guitarE
And deemed a rose was just a roseR
A star a starE
