Somehow the skies don't seem so blueB
As they used to beC
Blossoms have a fainter hueB
Grass less green I seeC
There's no twinkle in a starD
Dawns don't seem so goldE
Yet of course I know they areD
Guess I'm growing oldE
-
Somehow sunshine seems less brightF
Birds less gladly singG
Moons don't thrill me with delightF
There's no kick in SpringG
Hills are steeper now and I'mH
Sensitive to coldE
Lines are not so keen to rhymeH
Gosh I'm growing oldE
-
Yet in spite of failing thingsI
I've no cause to grieveJ
Age with all its ailing bringsI
Blessings I believeJ
Kindo' gentles up the mindK
As the hope we holdE
That with loving we will findK
Friendliness in human kindK
Grace in growing oldE
