Grandad Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAB CDCDCD EFGHGF IBIBIB JKJKLK MDMDMD NONONO

Heaven's mighty sweet I guessA
Ain't no rush to git thereB
Been a sinner more or lessA
Maybe wouldn't fit thereB
Wicked still bound to confessA
Might jest pine a bit thereB
-
Heaven's swell the preachers sayC
Got so used to earth hereD
Had such good times all the wayC
Frolic fun and mirth hereD
Eighty Springs ago to dayC
Since I had my birth hereD
-
Quite a spell of happy yearsE
Wish I could begin itF
Cloud and sunshine laughter tearsG
Livin' every minuteH
Women too the pretty dearsG
Plenty of 'em in itF
-
Heaven that's another taleI
Mightn't let me chew thereB
Gotta have me pot of aleI
Would I like the brew thereB
Maybe I'd get slack and staleI
No more chores to do thereB
-
Here I weed the garden plotJ
Scare the crows from pillageK
Simmer in the sun a lotJ
Talk about the tillageK
Yarn of battles I have foughtL
Greybeard of the villageK
-
Heaven's mighty fine I knowM
Still it ain't so bad hereD
See them maples all aglowM
Starlings seem so glad hereD
I'll be mighty peeved to goM
Scrumptious times I've had hereD
-
Lord I know You'll understandN
With Your Light You'll lead meO
Though I'm not the pious brandN
I'm here when You need meO
Gosh I know that HEAVEN'S GRANDN
But dang it God don't speed meO
