For I will be so unaware | A |

Their skyey cities of to day | D |
With carrion lips I cannot pray | D |

Though ruin reigns and madness raves | E |
And cowering men creep back in caves | E |
I cannot help to dig their graves | E |

Though fools for knowledge delve too deep | F |
And wake dark demons from their sleep | F |
I will not have the eyes to weep | F |

For I will be no longer there | A |
To share their sorrow and despair | A |

And nevermore my heart will bleed | G |
When on my brain the blind worms feed | G |
For I'll be dead dead DEAD indeed | G |

What may be man's dark destiny | H |

Ah there you have the hell of it | I |
As in the face of Fate I spit | I |
I know she doesn't mind a bit | I |

A thousand millions clot this earth | J |
And billions more await their birth | J |
