Finality Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA BCC DDD EEE FFF AAA GGG HHH III JJJ

When I am dead I will not careA
How future generations fareA
For I will be so unawareA
-
Though fields their slain has carpetedB
And seas be salt with tears they shedC
Not one I'll waste for I'll be deadC
-
Though atom bombs in ashes layD
Their skyey cities of to dayD
With carrion lips I cannot prayD
-
Though ruin reigns and madness ravesE
And cowering men creep back in cavesE
I cannot help to dig their gravesE
-
Though fools for knowledge delve too deepF
And wake dark demons from their sleepF
I will not have the eyes to weepF
-
I will not care I cannot careA
For I will be no longer thereA
To share their sorrow and despairA
-
And nevermore my heart will bleedG
When on my brain the blind worms feedG
For I'll be dead dead DEAD indeedG
-
And when I rot and cease to beH
It matters not a jot to meH
What may be man's dark destinyH
-
Ah there you have the hell of itI
As in the face of Fate I spitI
I know she doesn't mind a bitI
-
A thousand millions clot this earthJ
And billions more await their birthJ
For what Ye gods enjoy your mirthJ
